Brainstorming Session on Pre-Institutional Mediation under the Commercial Courts Act held by National Legal Aid Services Authority & Department of Justice

Thiruvengadam Bc, Honorary Director of BIMACC (Bangalore International Mediation, Arbitration and Conciliation Centre), was invited for the Brainstorming Session on Pre-Institutional Mediation under the Commercial Courts Act held by National Legal Aid Services Authority & Department of Justice headed by Hon’ble Mr. Justice Madan B Lokur.

The Commercial Courts, Commercial Division and Commercial Appellate Division of High Courts Act, 2015 (“Commercial Courts Act”) was amended in 2018 to make it mandatory for litigants to attempt to resolve their dispute through mediation before initiating court proceedings under the Commercial Courts Act.
